Thanks to an alert by Tom Schrader, founder of Competitive Arts, who knows the devastation that a site going down can cause especially if you are not aware of it, we were informed at 4:08pm, Wednesday, May 13, www.wausauwhitewater.org went down. I alerted LB, our webdesigner, who contacted our host. The host has already informed us that he wasworking feverishly to restore his system which crashed due to a corrupt file. Within a few hours, the site was back up and running.
If this would ever happen again, we now have back up plans. For example, if you were planning to use the ChipIn meter to help support Wausau Whitewater, you could still find it on my blog at http://designresumes.com/blog/2009/05/keep-wausau-whitewater-flowing/ and the season schedule is posted at http://wausauwhitewater.wordpress.com/2008/11/06/breathlessly-awaiting-the-2009-schedule/ and the training options are here: http://wausauwhitewater.wordpress.com/2008/12/12/training-sessions-in-2009-teach-me-to-paddle
If you need forms to register, you could also e-mail me at wkcc@dwave.net if you couldn’t download them off the website.
I am grateful that our host figured out what the problem was quickly and this problem was easily resolved.
For those of you watching, Wausau Whitewater 2009 went to bed this morning at Sun Printing and Julie (me) is about to take a long-awaited nap… after I sort through Mount Washmore…
June 6 isn’t far away, see you on the river!
